Kabaddi is a very popular team sport, which requires skill, strength, and ingenuity.
The game of Kabaddi originated in India 4000 years ago. The game was played
mainly in India and is now played internationally. The main purpose of this game was
to develop the virtue of defending oneself. The game is simple and inexpensive and
does not require a specific field. The game of Kabaddi has different names, such as
in Maharashtra – Hu-Tu-Tu, Chennai – Cheduyudu, Punjab – Jhaber Ganga / Sochi
Pakki. Kabaddi is very popular in Maharashtra, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Andhra
Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, and Gujarat.
The kabaddi ground is 12.50 meters long and 10 meters wide for men. There is also
a field 11 meters long and 8 meters wide for women and children.
The ground is preferably made of soil and manure. But now matte is also used.
A line is drawn in the center of the field which divides the field into two equal parts.
These two parts are called courts.
The reserved area on each side of each lobby is 1-1 meters each. This area is called
the lobby.
Also at a distance of about 3 meters from the centerline, there is a line which is
called a diagonal line or touchline.
There is a bonus line at a distance of 1 meter from this diagnostic line.
